Best Deal in Town is still Zero Down VA Loan

In the past 60 years since the start of the GI Bill, The VA home loan program is still as popular as ever. The Department of Veterans Affairs home loan program (VA Loan) generated 489,400 loans totaling more than $63 billion in fiscal year 2003. The VA Loan has stood the test of time for the following reasons:
  • The loan requires no downpayment. The VA limits the amount of origination fees and closing costs that can be charged.

  • The loan is available to most veterans, active duty service members, reservists and members of the public health service.

  • There is no PMI or private mortgage insurance.

According to VA statistics, 91% of VA buyers skip the downpayment, the typical household maintains an annual income of $50,000, the average age of borrowers is 39, and only 9 percent of VA mortgage holders are women.

At VALoans.com, we are here to assist you every step of the way with your VA home purchase. While many veterans go to their local banks, savings & loans or credit unions to obtain their VA loan, these companies usually are not equipped with full time VA underwriters and appraisers on staff ready to assist you like we can. We strive to give each and every Veteran customer the personalized service that they deserve. It is for that reason that we aim to be the largest VA lender in the country and ask that you give us a try. We can be reached toll free at 1-877-832-9347 or online at www.valoans.com.

Hiring Increases as Economy Grows

Strong economic growth in 2004 is translating into job growth. Companies see better prospects ahead, and are buying new equipment and hiring workers.

America has worked through the excess hiring by technology firms at the end of the 1990s. Companies once again are profitable, and ready to grow.

Additionally, U.S. manufacturing is recovering. Employment at factories should increase this year, after almost four years of losing jobs.

Our economy is finally back to growth levels last seen in 2000. Robust economic activity is expected both this year, and in 2005. Interest rates also are rising, now that low rates no longer are needed to stimulate the economy. But they aren't expected to rise quickly or sharply, since the Federal Reserve doesn't want to throw cold water on the recovery.

Golden Years on Hold

A recent national survey highlights that many Americans are not saving enough. The Retirement Confidence Survey shows that fewer than three out of five U.S. workers currently are putting funds away for the future.

Additionally, 45 percent say their household's total assets, not counting the value of their home, is less than $25,000. Several reasons account for this situation:
  1. Many Americans expect to work past the normal retirement age. More than two-thirds say they'll work beyond age 65. Yet almost 40 percent wind up leaving the work force earlier than they planned to. Unexpected health problems or downsizing by their employer contribute to this trend.

  2. We also tend to believe our expenses will fall drastically once we're no longer working. But financial advisors find retirees need about three-fourths of their pre-retirement income each year.

  3. Social Security's contribution often is over-estimated. More than half of all workers believe they'll be eligible for full benefits at an earlier age than they actually will be.

Fortunately, owning your home can provide stability for your household in retirement. Contact us to go over how your home loan fits into your family's financial plan.
